Seahorse Cafe

Our folk band, the Homestead Family Band, had our first gig recently. We played at a "secret cafe", a 4 course gourmet dinner, that was a fundraiser for our friend Ari. We live close to Ari, so the band (including Tam and Travis on guitars, pictured above with their food) walked to the house party playing our contra dance tunes and then continued to play outside as people socialized and started to eat. We also sat down to enjoy the cozy community atmosphere and really, really tasty food, all of which was donated by our many friends that work on farms around Boston (including Z's farm). It was such a festive summer evening, the only thing we were missing was a dance floor, but that comes at our next gig where we'll play music for our first (wedding) contra dance!
