Last weekend we ventured towards the northeast coast of Massachusetts for a hike we found in our New England hiking book. It was an odd place for sure, but was also recommended to us for good mountain biking so we really wanted to check it out. Plus, I have wanted to visit Gloucester (pronounced gloss-ter) for a long time so we made a day of it (The map is a visual my dad suggested;). The hike is just outside of Gloucester and is an abandoned settlement from the 1690s, where the original settlers found protection from pirates! We didn't see any buildings or any signs of spring for that matter (which made it haunting to me), but it was full of these cool house- and car-sized boulders that would make building and agriculture impossible. After the hike we indulged in fried clams and romped on the beach in Gloucester - an adorable town worth revisiting.
Fun! I want to scurry around on those rocks. That blue sky also makes me think that you're in the desert.
